The Jazzy Divas performed to a packed house at the Freedom Hall Nathan Manilow Theater in Park Forest, IL on the evening of Saturday, April 30. The Divas sang the music of jazz greats Lena Horne, Eartha Kitt, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn and so many others. During the show, each Diva rendered a solo selection and then The Divas came together to sing group songs and to provide outstanding backgrounds for each other. The ladies did a dynamic tribute to the great Natalie Cole, including her hits Our Love, I Can’t Say No, Mr. Melody, Inseparable, La Costa and I’ve Got Love on My Mind. The Divas also did an impromptu medley of “Prince” songs to celebrate his life and legacy. Musicians included Theodis Rodgers on keys, Junius Paul on bass and Maurice Banks on drums. It was a wonderful evening.
