What a fabulous night! The show was dedicated to original “Diva” Sue Conway, who passed away last week. Producer Joan Collaso created a lovely video filled with photos and clips of Sue singing. She was a wonderful woman and a legendary vocalist. There were only ten Divas on stage last night. Sue Conway was the Eleventh “Jazzy” Diva. We miss you Sue.
The Northeastern Illinois University Carruthers Center was packed and everyone had a fabulous time. They laughed and cried. They clapped and grooved to the music. It was a spiritual experience for the audience… and for The Divas.
I am delighted to be part of this talented group of pros. The Eleven “Jazzy” Divas is the brain child of Joan Collaso, featuring the top jazz and studio singers in Chicago. They include Producer, Joan Collaso, Yvonne Gage, Tecora Rogers, Margaret Murphy-Webb, Maggie Brown, Lynn Jordan, Felena Bunn, Frieda Lee, Theresa Davis and Greta Pope. Quite a terrific line-up!
