On Saturday, November 9 2013, I had the unique pleasure of attending and singing for this very special Veteran’s Day celebration.
I was invited to participate by a very gracious 90 year-old gentleman named Fred Randazzo. The celebration was held at “The Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii,” a beautiful Century-old Church at 1224 Lexington Avenue in Chicago. Reverend Richard Fragomeni presided.
Other performers included organist Nello Barone, vocalist Anthony Rago and my friend of many years, the great Josie Falbo. This event was a musical feast. It was truly a wonderful tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen who have earned a prominent place in our American military history. They have played a hugely important role in preserving the American freedoms that we enjoy today.
