I am very excited about a class that I’ll be teaching this year. The class is called Professional Development for Vocalists. We will explore the many opportunities available to Vocal Music Performers. Everything from good audition habits, to financial literacy, to the college selection and application process, to songwriting, recording, touring and merchandising.
We’ll be using two great text books…”Majoring in Music (all the Stuff You Need to Know),” by Rich Holly and my book “Music, Money & You; Managing the Business.”
It’s going to be a fun and educational year. I look forward to getting to know my students and seeing them grow as artists.
And it begins…day one…August 27, 2013. Nice!

I am teaching one course at ChiArts Chicago School for the Arts. The title of the course is Professional Development for Vocalists. The students are accepted to the school via a rigorous audition process. They are very talented and they’re very fortunate to be attending ChiArts where they have the opportunity to really hone their talents. Many students don’t have exposure to such high level training until they reach college. This is a wonderful marriage between exceptionally talented students and an institution that is doing all of the right things to give the students every opportunity for academic and creative success.
