Rehearsals are going very well for the Fenwick Black Friars Guild production of “The Wiz.” The students are so talented! We’ve done a great job of casting performers in roles that are wonderfully suited for them. Casting is an important and challenging job. After much deliberation, I think that we got it right! Good casting makes a huge difference in the success of any show.
I am mow teaching the cast their solo vocal parts as well as background vocal parts and choral parts. The music from this show is absolutely fantastic. I saw “The Wiz” on Broadway as a girl. I absolutely loved it! It was truly one of the highlights of my young life. I am delighted to have this opportunity to become intimately involved with this fantastic musical score.
Director John Paulett has such wonderfully creative ideas for the mounting of this show. It’s a pleasure to work with him. The Fenwick cast and crew are are outstanding. Check out this great movie rendition of “Ease On Down The Road”. Simply fabulous!
