Windy City Links Arts Chair Greta Pope with New York Times Best Selling Author Dolen Perkins-Valdez. Perkins-Valdez’ book is entitled “Wench.”
The Arts Committee of The Windy City Chapter of The Links Incorporated recently hosted an event at the Mitzi Friedheim Child and Family Center featuring New York Times Best Selling author Dolen Perkins-Valdez. Ms. Perkins-Valdez has written a wonderful book entitled “Wench” and Chicago audiences were delighted to meet the author and learn about this fictionalized accounting of actual events that took place during the era of slavery in America. It’s a fascinating story and a great read.
